The marketing audit sprint
Marketing audit in Dubai for UAE and UK businesses
A structured review of the whole marketing function, run to a process I developed and mapped to PR Smith’s SOSTAC® planning model. Seven diagnostics, one ranked set of priorities, and a KPI baseline the work can be measured against.
In short
An evidence base, before anyone writes a strategy
Not every engagement starts with an audit. Interim and advisory work often will not. Where it does apply, it establishes what is actually happening across the marketing function, ranks what matters commercially, and gives you a decision point before any strategy work begins.
What it establishes
Which activity is driving the commercial result.
What the evidence says, with the basis recorded against every finding.
The priorities, ranked by commercial value.
A KPI baseline the engagement can be measured against.
When it applies
Budget is moving behind a new plan and the board wants the case evidenced.
You are entering a new market and want a baseline before committing spend.
A new leadership team wants an independent read before setting direction.
You want agency and in-house effort aligned to commercial outcomes.
What it covers
Seven diagnostics
Each area is scored, and the scores produce one ranked list.

How I work
One framework, from first conversation to renewal
Six phases. Each hands a finished output to the next. Two gates, where you decide before anything moves forward. The audit is phase three.
Scope and fees are agreed before any work starts.
You see the full scope, the fee and the timings in writing, and decide, before I begin. Nothing is invoiced until you have signed it.You sign off the findings before the strategy is written.
The audit is played back and you agree which priorities carry forward. No strategy work is done, and no budget committed, against findings you have not accepted. How I engage
Phase three of an engagement
The audit runs inside a fractional, interim or project engagement. Scope and investment are confirmed at proposal.

Five outputs, all of them yours
Everything produced stays with the business, whether or not the engagement continues past phase three.
Common questions
Questions I am asked about the audit
- What do I have at the end of the audit?
- A ranked set of priorities with the evidence behind each one, and a roadmap you can act on with or without me. Everything produced stays with the business. Marketing activity vs business growth: closing the gap covers what the ranking looks for.
- Do I have to continue after the audit?
- No. The audit is a defined piece of work with its own scope and fee, agreed in writing before it starts. Where it makes sense to carry on, it becomes the first phase of a fractional CMO engagement.
- Can the audit run while an agency is in place?
- Yes. Agency scope, deliverables and value are part of what is reviewed. Your agency is kept informed, and I brief them on the priorities that carry forward.
