I am a sole professional. There is no wider team, and no one else has access to enquiries you send me.

What I collect

When you send an enquiry

The contact form asks for your name, work email address, company and a short description of what you are trying to solve. A phone number is optional. If you tick the consent box, that is recorded too, along with the date and time.

Each enquiry is saved in the website’s own database and also sent to me by email. Both copies are covered by the retention period below.

If you complete the readiness check

The answers you give, your score, and any contact details you choose to provide.

When you simply visit

  • Pages you viewed, how you arrived, roughly where in the world you are, and what device and browser you used. This comes from Google Analytics and is not tied to your name.
  • Standard server records kept by the website host, including your IP address, needed to run the site and to investigate abuse.

I do not collect special category data, I do not ask for financial details through this site, and I do not buy personal data from anyone.

Why I use it, and on what basis

Enquiry details are used to reply to you, to hold the conversation about whether I can help, and to prepare a proposal if there is a commercial case. Under UK and EU data protection law the basis for that is the steps taken at your request before entering a contract, and my legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries.

Analytics is used to understand which pages are read and where visitors come from, so the site can be improved. Server records are kept because the site cannot run without them and because they are needed to keep it secure.

I do not use your details for automated decision making, and I do not profile you.

Cookies and analytics

The site uses Google Analytics, added through the Site Kit plugin. It sets cookies in your browser to tell repeat visits apart and to measure how the site is used.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. The site works normally without them, and nothing you need is behind a cookie.

Google may process this data outside the country you are in. Google’s own privacy notice explains what it does with it.

[[CONFIRM: TrustedSite badge. It loads on the site and is not in the plugin list, so it comes from the host or from a code snippet. Name the provider here, or remove this paragraph if the badge is removed.]]

Who else handles your data

A small number of suppliers process data on my behalf, and only to do the job I use them for. None of them may use it for their own purposes.

  • GoDaddy, which hosts the website and its database.
  • SendLayer, which delivers the notification emails the contact form generates.
  • Google, for website analytics.

I do not sell your data, I do not share it for advertising, and I do not pass it to any other adviser, agency or partner without asking you first.

Where your data goes

I am based in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, so when you contact me your enquiry is read and held here. My suppliers may store or process data in the United States, the European Union or elsewhere, depending on the service.

If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Union, that means your data leaves your own country. I rely on the standard contractual protections offered by those suppliers. If you would rather not send personal details through the form, email or telephone me instead and share only what you are comfortable with.

How long I keep it

  • Enquiries that do not lead to work: deleted within six months of our last exchange. That means both the copy stored on the website and the email.
  • Client records: kept for as long as the engagement runs, then for the period UAE tax, accounting and legal rules require.
  • Analytics: held by Google for the retention period set in the Analytics account.
  • Server records: kept by the host on a short rolling basis.

If you would like your enquiry removed sooner, ask and I will do it.

Marketing

I do not send newsletters or marketing campaigns, and I do not run a mailing list. Sending an enquiry does not sign you up to anything. If that changes, this page will be updated before it does, and you will be asked before you are added to anything.

Your rights

You can ask me to:

  • tell you what I hold about you, and give you a copy
  • correct anything that is wrong
  • delete it
  • stop using it, or restrict how it is used
  • send it to you, or to someone else, in a portable form
  • withdraw your consent, where consent is what you gave

Email adam@ataylorcmo.com and I will deal with it within 30 days. There is no charge. I may ask you to confirm who you are first, so that I do not hand your details to somebody else.

If you are not satisfied

Tell me first and I will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to a regulator.

  • United Kingdom: the Information Commissioner’s Office, ico.org.uk
  • European Union: the supervisory authority in the country where you live
  • United Arab Emirates: the UAE Data Office

Security

The site runs over an encrypted connection, access to the WordPress administration area is restricted to me, and enquiry notifications go to a single mailbox that only I use. No website can promise perfect security, and I will not pretend otherwise. If something happens that puts your data at risk, and the law requires it, I will tell you and the relevant regulator.

Changes to this policy

If what I do with data changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top changes too. Substantial changes will be flagged on the page rather than made quietly.
