Marketing mentoring
Marketing mentoring, one to one
One-to-one mentoring for marketing managers and heads of function. Six sessions over up to six months, built around your objectives, with senior marketing experience to call on when it helps.
In short
You set the agenda
Every session starts with what you want to work on. I work through it with you and the decision stays with you. My part is to ask useful questions, share experience where it helps, and hold you to the objectives you set.
What people bring
Decisions you are close to and want to test with someone outside them.
Specific parts of the role you want to strengthen.
Challenges you are working through in the business.
Priorities you want to test before committing to them.

People who want a senior marketer to learn from.
Anyone looking to identify where they can add more value, to the business and to themselves.
People who want to discuss and test the solutions they are already considering.

How it works
The Mentoring Programme
Six sessions of 60 minutes, online by default, within a window of up to six months. The first two sessions are about a fortnight apart. The next is three weeks later, and the rest are monthly.
Book a discovery callEach session follows a structure called OSCAR, which keeps the hour on your outcome and ends with an action you have chosen. The fee is confirmed at the introductory conversation.
Confidentiality
What stays private, and what an employer receives
What is said in a session stays between you and me. The only exceptions are the usual ones: where the law requires disclosure, or where there is a risk of serious harm.
Where an employer pays
The employer receives your attendance and session dates, the agreed objectives, a short progress note at the midpoint and at the end, and notice if the programme ends early. I draft each progress note and you approve it before it is sent.
What an employer never receives
Session content, records, or my opinion of your performance or potential.
Scope and credentials
Mentoring and consultancy are separate services
Mentoring and consultancy
Mentoring is about your thinking, your decisions and your development. If what your business needs is someone to do the marketing work, that is my fractional CMO practice.
About the mentor
I hold the Effective Business Mentoring, ILM Assured Certificate, Association of Business Mentors (ABM), 2026. I work to the ABM Code of Conduct and take part in supervision and reflective practice.
Common questions
Questions I am asked about mentoring
- Who is marketing mentoring for?
- Marketing managers and heads of function, most often those who have recently taken on a wider brief or a first leadership role. The first enquiries have come from people moving into a bigger role. They want to work on their presence with senior stakeholders and on leading former peers.
- How many sessions are there and how long does the programme take?
- Six sessions of 60 minutes, within a window of up to six months. The first two are about a fortnight apart, the third is three weeks after that, and the remaining three are monthly.
- Can I have more than six sessions?
- Yes. A second block of six sessions follows the first for anyone who wants twelve sessions over twelve months.
- Are the sessions online or in person?
- Online by default. Each session is 60 minutes on a video call.
- What happens before the first session?
- You complete a short questionnaire and I write a one page picture of your role. From that you and I agree up to three objectives for the programme, and you score yourself out of ten against each one.
- What do I receive after each session?
- Within 24 hours you receive a written pack. It contains the record of the session, what I heard, up to three questions to think about, and your action with its date.
- Can I contact you between sessions?
- Yes, by email. I reply within two working days.
- What if I want to stop early?
- You or I can end the programme at any point. You pay only for the sessions delivered.
- Is mentoring confidential?
- Yes. What is said in a session stays between you and me, with the usual limits where the law requires disclosure or there is a risk of serious harm.
- Can my employer pay for the mentoring?
- Yes, and most do. Where an employer pays, the employer receives your attendance and session dates, the agreed objectives, a short progress note at the midpoint and at the end, and notice if the programme ends early. I draft each progress note and you approve it before it goes to your employer.
- What does my employer not receive?
- The employer never receives session content, records, or my opinion of your performance or potential.
- How much does the Mentoring Programme cost?
- The fee is confirmed at the introductory conversation.
- What is the difference between mentoring and fractional CMO work?
- Mentoring is about your thinking, your decisions and your development. If your business needs someone to lead or do the marketing work, that is my fractional CMO practice.
- What qualifies you to mentor?
- More than 20 years in senior marketing roles in the UAE, the UK and internationally, and the Effective Business Mentoring, ILM Assured Certificate, Association of Business Mentors (ABM), 2026. I work to the ABM Code of Conduct and take part in supervision and reflective practice.
- How does the introductory conversation work?
- It is a 30 to 40 minute conversation online, with no charge. I check with you that mentoring is the right thing and that you and I can work together.
